“This past summer I got to talk to so many campers who were going through hard things. I don’t have most of the answers they were looking for- but no matter what they were dealing with, I made sure they knew that we cared and Jesus cares.
So many of these campers have left an impression on my heart forever and there’s no way to list them all, but one that comes to mind was a boy who was brought in because he was just having a hard night. He was upset & ended up having a panic attack. We worked through that together, then we started talking about how his week was going at camp. Before long I had the opportunity to lead him into a personal relationship with Jesus!
I care for these kids – I care about making sure they take their medications, I care about their bumps and bruises and broken bones, but more importantly – I care about their hearts. And the fact that I was able to be a part of that moment will be with me forever. I’m so thankful that I get to be a part of this team. I know without a doubt that I’m where God has called me & there’s no other place I’d rather be!”
